Inter Miami CF to Visit China This November in Club’s First-Ever International Tour

Inter Miami CF has announced its first-ever international tour, which will take place in China this November. This tour is part of the club’s efforts to expand its reach in new territories and prepare for the upcoming 2024 season. During their visit, the team will play friendly matches against two Chinese Super League teams. The first match will be against Qingdao Hainiu F.C. in Qingdao on November 5th at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium. The second match will be against Chengdu Rongcheng in Chengdu on November 8th at the Phoenix Hill Sports Park. More information about broadcast details and tickets will be released in the coming weeks.

“We are thrilled to continue growing our global presence by bringing our team to play in front of passionate fans around the world. This tour provides us with a unique opportunity to share our passion for the game with new audiences and showcase our talent in new places. We are excited to embark on this adventure,” said Xavier Asensi, Chief Business Officer of Inter Miami CF.

“This tour will be a fantastic opportunity for us to build on the success of our 2023 campaign, where we won our first-ever trophy. It will also serve as a starting point for our preparations for the 2024 season, as we aim to build on our previous achievements and strive for even greater success,” said Chris Henderson, Sporting Director and Chief Soccer Officer of Inter Miami CF.

The first match of the tour will take place at the ultramodern Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, which has a capacity of 50,000 spectators. Qingdao Hainiu F.C., founded in 1990, has been a prominent team in the Chinese Super League for over two decades. Under the guidance of Spanish coach Antonio Carreño, the team has never been relegated and has consistently competed at the highest level of Chinese football.

The second match of the tour will be held at the Phoenix Hill Sports Park in Chengdu, which can accommodate over 60,000 fans. Chengdu Rongcheng, founded around the same time as Inter Miami CF in 2018, quickly rose through the ranks and gained promotion to the Chinese topflight. In their debut season, the team finished fifth out of 18 teams and currently sits in sixth place in the Chinese Super League standings. They also boast a state-of-the-art facility.
