Ian Machado Garry‘s confidence is soaring ahead of UFC 296.
Garry (13-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) will face teammate Vicente Luque (22-9-1 MMA, 15-5 UFC) on Dec. 16 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will be on pay-per-view after prelims expected on ESPN and ESPN+
Luque will likely pose Garry’s toughest test to date, but the undefeated Irish star predicts a flawless victory.
“On Dec. 16, be ready, because I’m going to go out there and finish Vicente Luque however I want,” Garry said on “The Energized Show.”
Some may view it as a bold prediction from Garry, who has lived up to the hype in the octagon so far. The 26-year-old is coming off a first-round TKO of Daniel Rodriguez, followed by a lopsided beating of Neil Magny at UFC 292.
Garry believes there’s a reason Irish fans are thrilled about his ascent.
“They should be, they should be,” Garry said. “I’m unbelievable. I’ve been telling you this since I was a teenager. The way my brain works, and the way I view fights, and the way I calculate things is just different. I have a different wavelength, a different understanding of fighting.
‘I can go in there and dominate people in any way because I’m better. This fight with Luque, the fight with Magny, the fight with D-Rod, it’s all the same, just repeated in different ways. I will find a way to have success, and I will win every single time because I’m that much better. So, everyone should be excited.
