Retired outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is truly a legend in every sense of the word.

At 50, Ichiro spent a recent weekend coaching young ballplayers at Asahikawa Higashi High School in Hokkaido, Japan. During a demonstration of his hitting technique, he unintentionally hit a ball that broke a window, even surprising himself.

Since retiring from MLB in 2019, Ichiro has been sharing his expertise in high schools across Japan, passing on knowledge from his 19-year MLB career with the Seattle Mariners and Miami Marlins, as well as his eight-year career in Japan’s Nippon Pro Baseball league.

Despite his status as an elder statesman of the game, Ichiro’s youthful spirit was evident when he accidentally shattered the window. His reaction mirrored that of an excited, guilty, and proud teenager, demonstrating that even at 50, he continues to surprise and inspire those around him.
