When it comes to the upcoming game against the Eagles, Micah Hyde isn’t envious of the Bills defensive line.
It all comes down to the infamous “Tush Push” play that the Eagles are known for.
It’s a seemingly simple quarterback sneak with Jalen Hurts, but with the help of his teammates, he is pushed over the line for a first down. This flawless execution is precisely why the Eagles are considered the best team in the NFL for both third and fourth-down conversions.
Hyde expressed his thoughts on this play during a video conference, remarking, “That’s on the big boys up front. It kind of turns into rugby, but that’s on those big boys up front. I might be behind them, pushing them, trying to give them a boost, but [the Eagles] are good at it.”
Among the big boys up front for the Bills is Ed Oliver, who is having another solid season. Even he acknowledges the difficulty of stopping the “Tush Push” play and struggles to explain a potential defense against it.
“Hopefully we keep them out of that down and distance so we don’t have to defend it,” Oliver said. “I think there’s a technique to stop it. Nobody just ain’t figured it out yet.”
“It seems hard to stop, but I think if you can… I don’t know, s—. Everybody else ain’t been able to stop it, who am I to say you can stop it here?” Oliver added.
