Halmar Friesen Racing Announces Key Hirings

Halmar Friesen Racing is gearing up for the 2024 season with three key additions to its No. 52 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro team, led by driver Stewart Friesen.

The team has brought on Jimmy Villeneuve, a seasoned veteran of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, to serve as the Crew Chief. Joining him is Dustin Dunn, who will take on the role of Race Engineer, and Tim Packman, who was appointed as HFR’s Commercial and Communications Director in September.

Villeneuve, hailing from Auburn, NH, brings with him over 20 years of experience, having previously worked as the crew chief for Kyle Busch Motorsports’ No. 4 Toyota team, as well as at Wood Brothers Racing and Kevin Harvick, Inc.

“I am looking forward to working with Stewart Friesen,” Villeneuve said. “My goal is to return HFR and Stewart back to a championship-contending team.”

Dunn, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from UNC Charlotte, has a background at KBM and McAnally-Hilgermann Racing, with over two decades of motorsports experience.

Packman, a 30-year motorsports veteran, began his career at Lancaster (NY) Motorplex and Ransomville Speedway, eventually making his way to the NASCAR ranks with stints at NASCAR.com, Dale Earnhardt, Inc., MRN Radio, and Richard Childress Racing.

Stewart Friesen expressed his excitement, stating, “Bringing on these three veterans will help us achieve our goals. I like winning and have a lot of confidence that Jimmy V and Dustin will help make that happen with the already-great team we have in place.”

These strategic moves reflect the ongoing commitment of HFR and Halmar International, LLC owner Chris Larsen to continuously improve the team.

“Adding Jimmy, Dustin, and Tim shows the commitment we’re making to turn into a champion for years to come. I can’t wait for Daytona,” Larsen said.
