The LSU Tigers kick off Week 7 of the 2023 college football season with a 4-2 record.
It wasn’t the ideal start for Brian Kelly and the Tiger faithful, but here we are. The Tigers find themselves with the third-best odds to win the SEC championship. LSU’s odds currently sit at +1100, trailing Georgia (-155) and Alabama (+210).
Despite their 4-2 record, there is still a glimmer of hope that LSU can turn things around and secure the SEC championship. The Tigers boast one of the most potent offenses in college football, led by Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. If the defense can step up, LSU has a chance.
When asked about LSU’s prospects of winning the SEC, Greg McElroy had this to say, according to On3:
“I think LSU is a truly formidable football team,” McElroy said on Wednesday. “When you face LSU, you have to be prepared for a high-scoring game. They’re reminiscent of last year’s Tennessee team. If you wanted to put up big points, Tennessee would match you every step of the way. … Your offense needs to be firing on all cylinders to beat LSU.
“They are incredibly dangerous, a team nobody wants to face. However, their defense hasn’t impressed me so far. I don’t trust them, but if their offense is hot — I’ll take LSU at [+1100].”
This weekend, LSU will host the Auburn Tigers in Baton Rouge for another crucial SEC showdown.
