Don’t miss the live coverage of Great Britain’s quest for victory in the Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup team events this month on BBC Sport.
The women’s team, led by Katie Boulter, will face Sweden in a play-off tie in London on 11-12 November. The winner will secure a spot in next year’s BJK Cup qualifiers.
Andy Murray is part of the men’s squad, which will travel to Malaga, Spain, for the Davis Cup knockout phase. Great Britain will face Serbia, led by Novak Djokovic, in the quarter-finals on 23 November.
Both ties will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.
What’s Happening in the BJK Cup?
Great Britain vs. Sweden – Saturday, 11 November (14:00 GMT) and Sunday, 12 November (12:00 GMT)
Great Britain missed out on this year’s 12-team BJK Cup Finals after losing to France in a best-of-five qualifier in April. They are now in the play-offs against Sweden.
The British squad, featuring Katie Boulter, Jodie Burrage, Harriet Dart, and Heather Watson, will compete for a place in the 2024 qualifiers. The loser will drop to the regional Group I stage.
The tie consists of five matches – four singles contests and a deciding doubles if necessary. Two singles matches will take place on Saturday at 14:00 GMT, while the remaining matches and doubles will be played on Sunday, starting at 12:00 GMT.
“We had a really great time at the Copper Box Arena in 2019, securing the win [over Kazakhstan] that saw us return to the World Group for the first time since 1993,” said Great Britain captain Anne Keothavong. “The atmosphere was fantastic then, and we hope it can be even bigger and better this month. We love these weeks we get to come together as a team, especially when it’s in front of a home crowd. On a personal level, to have international women’s tennis on the doorstep of where I grew up and learnt to play is really special.”
What’s Happening in the Davis Cup?
Great Britain vs. Serbia – Thursday, 23 November (15:00 GMT)
Great Britain, the 2015 Davis Cup champions, reached the Final Eight after a thrilling victory against France in Manchester in September.
The team, led by captain Leon Smith and consisting of Dan Evans, Neal Skupski, Andy Murray, Cameron Norrie, and Jack Draper, saved four match points before winning the deciding doubles match. They will now face Serbia in the quarter-finals in Malaga.
Unfortunately, Dan Evans had to withdraw due to a calf injury sustained in Vienna. A replacement, likely a specialist doubles player such as Joe Salisbury or Jamie Murray, is yet to be called up.
If Great Britain defeats Serbia, they will advance to the semi-finals on Saturday, 25 November at 11:00 GMT. The match will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.
The final will take place on Sunday, 26 November at 15:00 GMT, and the BBC will provide live coverage regardless of Great Britain’s involvement.
