Recap: Minnesota Golden Gophers dominate New Orleans Privateers 97-64
TGD. Total Gopher Domination.
The Gophers only had 12 turnovers, with 3 coming late in the game from reserve Jack Wilson. This limited New Orleans’ ability to score in transition. Add in the Privateers’ 1 of 11 shooting from three, and the Gophers’ dominance in the paint, and it’s no surprise Minnesota came out on top. Freshman guard Cam Christie made a big impact off the bench with 20 points.
As conference season begins, it’s a chance for teams to prove themselves despite non-conference performances not mattering much. The competition is about to get harder, but teams can turn things around in conference play, just like Purdue did in the 2014-15 season.
