HICKORY, N.C. — The second round of NCAA Regional Rankings were released today, marking the beginning of the team rankings. In last week’s release, ten teams were listed as “in consideration,” but the Bears have now secured the fifth spot in the regional rankings.
The NCAA Playoffs consist of four regions, with the Bears competing in Super Region 2. This region includes seven teams, with the top seed receiving a bye and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seeds hosting a home game in the first round. Subsequent rounds will be hosted by the higher seed.
Following their first loss of the season, the Bears hold an 8-1 record, placing them solidly in the playoff field. Currently, they are set to face off against the 4th seed, West Florida, in the first round. However, there are still two weeks of games remaining for teams to improve their rankings.
Lenoir-Rhyne is one of two SAC schools listed in the rankings, with Mars Hill trailing just behind at No. 6.
