The field is set for the inaugural LIV Golf Promotions event in Abu Dhabi, where 73 players will vie for a spot among the top three finishers, who will be drafted onto a LIV Golf League team ahead of the first seasonal event at LIV Golf Mayakoba in Mexico, scheduled for February 2-4, 2024.
The tournament will begin on December 8 with 59 players competing in the first round. The top 20 and ties will move on to the second round. An additional group of 14 players will join the advancing players who are exempt from the first round. The second round will feature another cut, paring the field down to just the top 20 players, whose scores will reset. Finally, the remaining 20 players will compete over 36 holes on the final day to determine the top three finishers. The players who finish fourth through tenth will be exempt for all 2024 events on The International Series sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
Notably, all four players who were relegated after the 2023 LIV Golf season are in the field and automatically through to the second round. Former PGA Champion Jason Dufner, ex-Ryder Cuppers Victor Dubuisson and Jeff Overton, and amateurs Max Kennedy, Ryan Griffin and Sampson-Yunhe Zheng, the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship runner-up, are among the biggest names competing in the event.
