Expectations are high as Akron enters men’s basketball season with senior Enrique Freeman

The University of Akron men’s basketball team has generated a lot of buzz for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Coaches and preseason publications, including ESPN, Basketball Almanac, and The Athletic, have ranked Akron as the top team in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) preseason rankings. With key players like Enrique Freeman, Greg Tribble, and Sammy Hunter returning as starters, along with the potential return of Ali Ali, a seasoned transfer from Butler, Akron has high hopes for success this season. Additionally, the return of Mikal Dawson from an injury and the addition of talented newcomers further solidify Akron’s chances of winning games in the NCAA Tournament.
