Since joining the NHL in the 2005-06 season, Sidney Crosby has engaged in eight fights. Now, it’s time to add another to his list.
Crosby found himself in a fight against Peyton Krebs of the Buffalo Sabres, a player who is 14 years his junior. This altercation occurred after Krebs and Tyson Jost delivered a hard hit on Kris Letang behind Pittsburgh’s net.
This was Crosby’s first fight since October 2019.

In the video, we can see Crosby immediately reacting to the play after witnessing his long-time teammate’s hard collision.
After receiving three strong cross checks from Crosby, 22-year-old Krebs dropped his gloves, marking the third fight of his relatively new NHL career. The “fight” lasted a mere four seconds before Crosby pinned Krebs down and the officials intervened.
The only additional penalty given was a two-minute minor for cross-checking to Crosby, despite his clear instigation of the short brawl following a clean collision.
However, there were no lasting hard feelings. Crosby and Jost could be seen sharing laughs in the penalty box after the skirmish.

Ah, hockey. The only sport where you can attempt to punch your opponent in the face and then later share a laugh about it in a small, confined penalty box.
