OWINGS MILLS, Md. — As the Baltimore Ravens prepare for their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday, a source has informed ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey is expected to make his season debut.
Humphrey has been sidelined for the first four games of the season due to foot surgery he underwent in August. Despite being listed as questionable, he participated fully in Friday’s practice after limited activity throughout the week.
In addition to Humphrey, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) and left tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee) have both expressed their intention to return. Beckham has missed the past two games, while Stanley has been out for the last three.
Aged 27, Humphrey has established himself as one of the Ravens’ most skilled cornerbacks. With three Pro Bowl selections under his belt, he is only the third player in franchise history, alongside defensive legends Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, to achieve double-digit forced fumbles and interceptions in his career.
In Humphrey’s absence, the Ravens’ pass defense has surprisingly thrived. Under the stewardship of Brandon Stephens, who has stepped up in Humphrey’s place, Baltimore has allowed the third-fewest passing yards per game this season, averaging just 168.3.
The Ravens, currently leading the AFC North with a 3-1 record, have an opportunity to sweep all of their divisional road games if they secure a victory in Pittsburgh. Already triumphant in Cincinnati and Cleveland this year, Baltimore aims to maintain their dominance.
