Vanderbilt basketball has experienced a tumultuous couple of weeks.
It’s been a challenging 15 days since the Commodores’ last victory, which came against Central Arkansas on Nov. 17. Since then, they have suffered three consecutive losses, with lopsided defeats against Arizona State and Boston College. Their opportunity for redemption comes on Saturday as they face Alabama A&M at Memorial Gymnasium.
Vanderbilt (3-4) has been plagued by a string of injuries, though there is hope on the horizon. Tyrin Lawrence, Ven-Allen Lubin, and Ezra Manjon have all made their return after missing time. Colin Smith has been sidelined for the last two games due to a concussion.
Adding to their challenges, Lee Dort is currently suspended from the team indefinitely following his arrest on charges of assault by strangulation.
Alabama A&M (1-5) is well-acquainted with Nashville teams, already playing their third game in the city this season. The Bulldogs secured a win against Tennessee State but fell to Lipscomb, in addition to losses against Cleveland State, ETSU, North Alabama, and Auburn.
