Get ready for the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational, featuring 16 top PGA Tour and LPGA players battling it out on the green.
The action kicks off on Friday, Dec. 8 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, and will showcase scramble, foursomes, and mixed fourball formats. Here’s a closer look at each round:
Round 1: Scramble
Each player hits a tee shot, and the team then selects the ball to be used for the next stroke. From there, both players hit their next shots from that spot until the ball is holed.
Round 2: Foursomes (alternate shot)
Players from each team take turns hitting shots with the same ball until it’s holed. One player will tee off on odd-numbered holes, while the other takes even-numbered holes.
Round 3: Modified fourball
Both players tee off, then switch balls for their second shots and continue playing that same ball until it’s holed. The lower score of the partners is counted as the team score for the hole.
