Draymond Green reacts to no call after he is kicked in groin during game

In an intense NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, a controversial moment occurred when Draymond Green, a player from the Warriors, received an accidental but forceful kick from Jarrett Allen of the Cavaliers in a sensitive area, commonly referred to as the groin.

Surprisingly, no foul call, review, or penalties were imposed on Allen for this incident. This lack of consequences did not go unnoticed by Green, who has experienced severe consequences in the past for similar actions. Green took to his Instagram story to express his dissatisfaction with the situation, stating, “The Draymond Green Rule is only a rule when Draymond Green is delivering… cool.“

Green’s statement refers to his infamous suspension from Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals, where he received a technical foul for kicking LeBron James in the groin. This accumulation of technical fouls led to Green’s suspension, and the Cavaliers went on to win Game 5 and ultimately the series. Prior to that, Green was also ejected from a game for kicking Steven Adams of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the same sensitive area.

These incidents prompted the NBA to establish the “unnatural act” rule, which prohibits offensive players from extending any part of their body unnaturally into their opponents. This rule applies to situations like a player kicking their legs forward on a jump shot to draw contact or any similar actions, including Allen’s accidental kick on Green. Despite it being unintentional, it was still considered a foul.

Despite the incident, Green continued to play in the game and scored 18 points, contributing to the Warriors’ loss against the Cavaliers.

Green has repeatedly highlighted the differential treatment he receives in such situations compared to other players. It is expected that this topic will resurface throughout the season.
