Dolphins lose Jaylen Waddle, trail 17-10 at halftime

The Dolphins have encountered some challenges in today’s game, despite their strong offensive performances throughout the season. At halftime, Miami trails the Eagles with a score of 17-10, having only gained 113 yards so far.

To make matters worse, starting receiver Jaylen Waddle is currently in the training room due to a back injury. His return to the game is uncertain. Waddle has made two catches for a total of 24 yards.

Although the Eagles initially dominated with a 17-3 lead, the Dolphins managed to put together an impressive drive just before halftime. They covered 72 yards in eight plays, resulting in a 27-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill, despite being double covered by James Bradberry and Terrell Edmunds. Hill now has eight catches for 65 yards in the game.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has completed 13 of his 16 attempted passes, gaining a total of 129 yards so far.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins have struggled to find any running room, losing a total of 7 yards on four carries. The league’s top-ranked offense is also facing issues with their offensive line, as three starters are currently unavailable. The left tackle Terron Armstead and center Connor Williams are inactive, while left guard Isaiah Wynn had to leave the game due to a quadriceps injury on the first drive.

Wynn’s replacement, Lester Cotton, was penalized for holding on the following drive, nullifying a touchdown scored by Hill. As a result, the Dolphins had to settle for a field goal instead.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have gained a total of 169 yards and probably should have a larger lead considering their performance.

Jalen Hurts, the Eagles’ quarterback, has completed 12 of his 15 passes for 143 yards and has thrown a touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert, who has made four catches for 67 yards in the game. Hurts himself also managed to score a 1-yard touchdown on a quarterback push play, but unfortunately lost a fumble on the team’s second drive, resulting in the Dolphins’ field goal.
