Gingerich’s journey as an artist began in his early years, with a passion for painting that eventually led to a dedicated pursuit of art in the 1990s. Drawing inspiration from plein-air workshops and self-education in various schools of art, his distinctive approach combines elements of the Barbizon and Impressionist styles. Notably, Gingerich participated in the Ohio bicentennial project Paint Ohio, an endeavor to portray scenes from all 88 counties in the state.

Beyond painting, Gingerich is also skilled in carpentry, masonry, and gardening. With his deep connection to nature, he finds solace in the world around him, drawing from its living personality to create evocative landscapes.
