Deebo Samuel reveals Brock Purdy’s message to 49ers after Bengals loss – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Brock Purdy Facing National Criticism After Third Straight Loss

Following the San Francisco 49ers’ latest defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Brock Purdy is shouldering the blame and acknowledging his need for improvement.

In a recent interview on the “Up & Adams” show, wide receiver Deebo Samuel shared Purdy’s message to the team after the game.

“One thing I admire about Brock is that despite the criticism, he remains confident. After the loss to the Bengals, he took full responsibility for his actions and acknowledged the need to step up his game,” Samuel revealed.

Samuel further expressed his appreciation for Purdy’s accountability, saying, “One thing we appreciate about Brock is that he accepts full responsibility for his actions. He knows his capabilities and strives to perform at his best every week.”

Although fans are quick to assign blame to various factors, including defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and Nick Bosa’s performance after signing a lucrative contract extension, Purdy takes full responsibility for his recent struggles.

The 2023 season started strong for Purdy, with five consecutive wins and consistent play. However, the 49ers have stumbled recently, bringing their record to 5-3.

The team now enters a bye week before facing the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10.

Samuel, who has been absent from the last two games due to a hairline fracture in his left shoulder, expressed his readiness to return and support the team.

With the “wide back” returning, the hope is that both the 49ers and Purdy can turn their season around.
