Former Georgia Bulldog David Pollack may have been laid off by ESPN, but he continues to share his insights on the college football landscape. Recently, Pollack revealed his top five Heisman players, with Georgia quarterback Carson Beck making the cut. It’s taken time for Beck to gain national recognition, but after a strong showing against Ole Miss, he’s finally getting the attention he deserves.
Pollack included Beck in his list of Heisman “Dudes,” highlighting players he currently favors. Beck’s most recent performance included 306 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Throughout the season, Beck has amassed 3,022 yards and 18 touchdowns, despite falling behind other Heisman contenders in terms of statistics. Nevertheless, Beck has been the driving force behind the undefeated Bulldogs, propelling the Georgia offense to an average of 41.2 points per game.
Beck still has a couple of opportunities to secure a spot at the Heisman Trophy ceremony, with upcoming games against Tennessee and the SEC championship game against Alabama. While Beck may be considered a long shot at this point, the possibilities remain open as long as the Bulldogs continue their winning streak.
In addition to his ongoing involvement in the Athens area, Pollack is currently contributing to the North Oconee football team and engaging in motivational speaking engagements around the country.
