Dana White confirms UFC, Michael ‘Venom’ Page have mutual interest

ABU DHABI – Rumors are circulating that Michael Page, known as “MVP,” may be making his way to the UFC.

Michael Page, one of Bellator’s most prominent stars, has been a free agent for several months. The UFC rarely acknowledges potential free agents, making his appearance on the UFC 286 broadcast in March noteworthy.

During the pre-fight news conference for UFC 294, Page posted a photo with UFC president Dana White, fueling speculation about a potential business relationship between the two parties. After UFC 294, White confirmed that discussions are underway and there is interest from both sides.

“Listen, he’s a kid that we’re definitely interested in, and he’s interested, too. So, possibly,” White commented on the possibility of “MVP” joining the UFC.

Throughout his Bellator career, Page has expressed his desire to compete in the UFC. Despite a complicated relationship with Bellator and public frustrations with the promotion, Page only suffered two losses under the Bellator banner: a knockout loss to Douglas Lima and a split decision loss to Logan Storley. He also had a bareknuckle boxing bout for BKFC, where he lost a majority decision to Mike Perry.

If Page signs with the UFC, it will mark the first time he competes outside of Bellator since joining the promotion in May 2014.

Page aims to continue his winning streak, which currently stands at one. In his most recent fight at Bellator 292 in August 2023, he showcased his devastating power by defeating Goiti Yamauchi with a single kick to the leg.
