Dan Hooker’s much-anticipated lightweight co-headliner against Bobby Green has been forced to a halt, as Hooker broke his arm while sparring. “(In) sparring yesterday, copped a bit of a kick. Got sent to an X-ray. She’s custard … Yeah, it just broke in the same place, and it kind of is what it is,” the fighter told Submission Radio.
Hooker fractured his right arm during a fight against Jalin Turner at UFC 290 in July. Following a speedy recovery, the City Kickboxing fighter admits he should have allowed more time for rest before heading back. Unfortunately, he reinjured himself while sparring, revealing, “Yeah, just sparring yesterday. Bro, one of those things. I blocked a thousand kicks in the last couple of months and just one hit on the right spot and it just, yeah. It is what it is.”
Scheduled to undergo surgery again, Hooker is eyeing a return around UFC 300 in April, confidently stating, “I’ll be back. Everything happens for a reason. That one wasn’t meant to be. Yeah, UFC 300 in five months.”
