According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo has allegedly been sentenced to 99 lashes in Iran for ‘adultery’. The Portuguese football star visited Iran with Al-Nassr for the Asian Champions League match against Persepolis in September.
During his visit, Ronaldo met Fatima Hamimi, an artist who reportedly suffers from 85% paralysis. Hamimi presented Ronaldo with some of her paintings, and the footballer responded by hugging her and kissing her on the cheek.
This gesture has angered some Iranian lawyers, who consider it an act of adultery. They have reported Ronaldo to the authorities, as stated by Mundo Deportivo.
In Iranian law, any physical contact with a woman who is not your wife is deemed equivalent to adultery.

The Sharq Emroz, a TV station in Iran, has reported that the country’s justice system has already sentenced Ronaldo to 99 lashes for his actions. In the event of his arrest, Ronaldo may be able to avoid the lashes if a judge deems his actions as not punishable or if he shows remorse for his behavior.
