In a fiery cup clash between Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq, Cristiano Ronaldo found himself face to face with Jordan Henderson, the former Liverpool captain. Surprisingly, Henderson managed to avoid being sent off despite his involvement in the ill-tempered match.
Henderson, who controversially left Anfield after a 12-year stint to join Al-Ettifaq, became the center of attention as a scuffle broke out between the two sides in the final minutes of normal time in the King Cup tie, which took place in Saudi Arabia.
In the 90th minute, just as the last-16 clash was nearing its end, Al-Ettifaq midfielder Ali Hazazi tripped Al-Nassr’s Otavio. Henderson then made matters worse by forcefully pushing Hazazi three times.

Ronaldo, visibly displeased with Henderson’s actions, signaled that the former Liverpool captain should have been sent off or, at the very least, booked for his cynical fouls. Hazazi, however, received a red card for his trip.
Tempers continued to rise after the final whistle as Ronaldo confronted Henderson, expressing his displeasure towards the Al-Ettifaq captain for his role in the incident.
Henderson attempted to calm down the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as both players headed to the dressing room.
In the end, Al-Nassr had the last laugh, as Sadio Mane, Henderson’s former teammate from Liverpool, scored in the second half of extra time, resulting in a 1-0 defeat for Al-Ettifaq. Steven Gerrard manages the team, and Gini Wijnaldum is also part of their lineup.
