Arizona Coyotes defenseman Travis Dermott made history during the team’s home opener on Saturday night as the first player to openly defy the NHL’s ban on Pride Tape by using it on his stick. This act of defiance occurred during the Coyotes’ 2-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

League officials informed The Athletic on Sunday that they would review the incident to determine if it violated their policy. The Coyotes stated that they had not received any information regarding potential disciplinary measures from the league.
