Cowboys crushing Rams 33-9 at halftime with Matthew Stafford hurting

During the first half of Sunday’s game, the Cowboys showcased the same dominance they displayed when they defeated the Giants and Jets with a staggering combined score of 70-10 in their previous two games. It was a remarkable team effort that completely overwhelmed the Rams, who were clearly outmatched.

At halftime, the Cowboys were comfortably leading with a score of 33-9.

Dallas’ defense made a significant impact by scoring a touchdown through DaRon Bland’s 30-yard interception return. Additionally, the special teams contributed with a safety, courtesy of Sam Williams’ blocked punt that found its way out of the end zone. To add to their lead, KaVontae Turpin’s 63-yard return on the free kick set up a short 13-yard touchdown drive. The offense also played a crucial role, managing to score three offensive touchdowns.

Micah Parsons proved to be a nightmare for Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford, who had to seek medical assistance after a brutal hit from Parsons during an incomplete pass. Stafford’s right thumb collided with Parsons’ arm towards the end of the second quarter. Unfortunately for Stafford, he then hit his thumb again on Mazi Smith’s shoulder pads during a failed 2-point conversion attempt.

The Rams currently have 144 yards, whereas the Cowboys have accumulated 251 yards. Parsons has already achieved one sack and put considerable pressure on Stafford twice. On the other side, Aaron Donald has successfully sacked Dak Prescott twice for the Cowboys.

Prescott’s statistics so far include completing 17-of-21 passes for 225 yards. He has thrown for three touchdowns, but also experienced one interception in the red zone, as Jordan Fuller managed to pick off his pass. CeeDee Lamb, who has been vocal about wanting more involvement in the game, has been highly productive with nine catches on 10 targets, accumulating an impressive 122 yards and scoring two touchdowns. The distances covered for his touchdown receptions were 10 and 22 yards, respectively.

The Rams managed to salvage some points with Royce Freeman’s 1-yard touchdown run just seconds before the end of the half. Unfortunately for Stafford, he endured yet another blow to his injured thumb during the incompletion of the 2-point pass.

As of now, Stafford has completed 10-of-19 passes for 107 yards, and has suffered the interception returned for a touchdown.
