Couple Weds in 10 Second NASCAR Pit Stop Wedding

One couple ties the knot in a unique wedding experience that took place in front of thousands of NASCAR fans — all in less than 10 seconds.

Tori Lindsay and Nick Brendel exchanged vows during a pit stop at the South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series playoff race on Sunday. The wedding ceremony, called the “Busch Light Pit Stop Wedding,” was dubbed the “fastest wedding imaginable” as it coincided with driver Kevin Harvick’s pit stop during the race.

Before the ceremony, the couple was seen getting ready backstage in a short video. They then walked towards the pit box of car #4 where their nuptials took place. The wedding was witnessed by 80,000 passionate fans who were thrilled to be a part of the special moment.

For the bride’s attire, she wore a white NASCAR racing suit with a veil wrapped around her waist. Her white rose bouquet was creatively decorated with Busch Light beer cans. The groom opted for a white button-up shirt, tie, and boutonniere under a NASCAR jacket with matching pants. Actor Gerald Downey, known as the “Busch Guy,” assisted the groom in getting ready, including tying his tie before the ceremony.

Downey also served as the marriage officiant for the ceremony. In front of the pit stop crew, he asked Brendel if he took Lindsay to be his bride, to which he nodded and mouthed the words, ‘I do.’ The same question was posed to Lindsay, and she followed suit by nodding and saying ‘I do’ as well.

With cheers from the crowd, Downey proclaimed, “I now pronounce you man and wife. Kiss the bride.” The couple quickly shared a kiss before walking away from the pit stop and celebrating their marriage.

The couple, who are both from St. Louis, Missouri, are avid NASCAR fans. They even got engaged earlier this year at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, making their pit stop wedding ceremony even more significant for them.

Out of several hopeful couples, Tori Lindsay and Nick Brendel were chosen to win this one-of-a-kind wedding experience. To enter the contest, couples over the age of 21 had to tag @Buschbeer on social media and explain why they deserved the pit stop wedding.

In addition to celebrating the couple’s love, the wedding ceremony also honored driver Kevin Harvick’s final race in Las Vegas. Harvick announced in January that he would retire from the sport after the 2023 season and pursue a career as an analyst for NASCAR on Fox.PEOPLEReference
