DURHAM –Duke basketball’s Countdown to Craziness gives fans the opportunity to preview the upcoming season for the Blue Devils.
However, it also serves as a crucial recruiting weekend for Jon Scheyer, the head coach, and the program. On Friday night, six recruits from the 2024 class were welcomed to Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Currently, Duke has three recruits in the Class of 2024 — Darren Harris, Isaiah Evans, and Kon Knueppel — who are set to join the Blue Devils as freshmen in the 2024-25 season.
In addition, five-star recruits Cooper Flagg, VJ Edgecombe, and Patrick Ngongba are currently on official visits in Durham.

Flagg, the top-ranked recruit nationally in the Class of 2024 according to 247Sports, is Duke’s most desired prospect. Flagg, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound wing, visited Durham unofficially in August and UConn in late September.
Flagg’s visit to Durham this weekend seems to be his final recruiting trip before making a decision, as he canceled his visit to Kansas. The early signing period begins in mid-November.
Expected to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Flagg and the other recruits were enthusiastically received by the Cameron Crazies on Friday night.
Flagg attends Montverde Academy, which has produced several Duke standouts like RJ Barrett, Dariq Whitehead, and freshman Sean Stewart.
In 2022, Flagg was named the USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year for leading Team USA’s U17 team to a gold-medal finish in the FIBA World Cup. He also had an outstanding performance in the Peach Jam tournament in early July.
Duke basketball recruits VJ Edgecombe, Patrick Ngongba also visit Blue Devils
Following Flagg, Edgecombe and Ngongba are Duke’s top targets in the 2024 class.
