Colts in Command: Lead Buccaneers 17-10 in Halftime Showdown

The first half between the Buccaneers and Colts has been a seesaw battle, with Indianapolis holding a 17-10 lead going into halftime.

After trading field goals to kick off the scoring, Jonathan Taylor punched in a 4-yard touchdown. On the following drive, Gardner Minshew ran in a 2-yard touchdown after a Baker Mayfield interception.

Despite having 14 first downs and 191 total yards, the Colts are struggling on third down, converting only 1 of 6 attempts. Minshew completed 13 of 25 passes for 139 yards with one interception and a potential drop by Tampa Bay’s defense.

Taylor has rushed for 30 yards on four carries, while Michael Pittman leads the Colts with six catches for 79 yards.

As the first half wound down, Matt Gay’s 58-yard field goal attempt for the Colts hit the left upright, denying them a chance to extend their lead.

Mayfield completed 10 of 16 passes for 85 yards, adding a touchdown and an interception. His 1-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans occurred with 5:08 left in the second quarter.

Mayfield briefly received treatment for an ankle injury after attempting a QB sneak at the goal line, but he returned to action for Tampa Bay’s next drive. Backup quarterback Kyle Trask briefly took over but couldn’t score on third down.

Tampa Bay will start the second half with Mayfield back at the helm, while the Colts will receive the kickoff.
