College football picks against the spread: Bruce Feldman’s Week 10 picks

After a successful week going 6-4 against the spread, I am now three games above .500 for the season. Let’s recap the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good: correctly predicting an Upset Special with Arizona defeating Oregon State. The bad: underestimating Texas and thinking BYU would keep the game close. The ugly: missing the Ohio State-Wisconsin spread by just half a point.

Now, let’s move on to this week’s predictions:

Don’t forget to check out Stewart Mandel’s picks.

No. 23 Kansas State at No. 7 Texas (-4), Noon (Fox)

This will be a challenging game for Maalik Murphy, especially considering how well the Wildcats have been performing and their ability to make in-game adjustments. Nevertheless, I believe Texas will find a way to win by utilizing their talented skill positions.

Texas 23, Kansas State 21
Prediction: Kansas State +4

Texas A&M at No. 10 Ole Miss (-3), Noon (ESPN)

The Lane-Jimbo rivalry is one of the most intriguing in college coaching. If this game were taking place in College Station, I would predict an A&M victory. However, Max Johnson has struggled on the road, and Jaxson Dart’s numbers are comparable. Therefore, Ole Miss should come out on top.

Ole Miss 28, Texas A&M 20
Prediction: Ole Miss -3

No. 12 Missouri at No. 2 Georgia (-15.5), 3:30 p.m. (CBS)

Georgia will have the home advantage in this game, and they excel in these kinds of matchups. Missouri’s ranking in the top 15 won’t be enough to overpower the strength of Georgia.

Georgia 38, Missouri 20
Prediction: Georgia -15.5

No. 9 Oklahoma (-6) at No. 22 Oklahoma State, 3:30 p.m. (ABC)

Oklahoma has just completed a challenging trip to KU and Ollie Gordon has been performing exceptionally well for the Cowboys. This feels like a perfect opportunity for Oklahoma State to pull off an upset.

Oklahoma State 35, Oklahoma 31
Prediction: Oklahoma State +6

No. 11 Penn State (-8.5) at Maryland, 3:30 p.m. (Fox)

Maryland has been struggling lately, while Penn State had a reality check against IU. I believe Penn State will be locked in and ready for this game, resulting in a decisive win.

Penn State 30, Maryland 17
Prediction: Penn State -8.5

Purdue at No. 3 Michigan (-32.5), 7:30 p.m. (NBC)

No team has come close to Michigan this season. Although Purdue has shown promise, the Wolverines have the edge on both sides of the ball and will secure a dominant victory.

Michigan 48, Purdue 7
Prediction: Michigan -32.5

No. 21 Kansas at Iowa State (-2.5), 7 p.m. (ESPN)

Iowa State has been consistently performing well, while Kansas is coming off a significant win against OU. However, I predict Kansas will experience a slight hangover and struggle to regain their focus, allowing Iowa State to come out on top.

Iowa State 24, Kansas 17
Prediction: Iowa State -2.5

No. 5 Washington (-3) at No. 20 USC, 7:30 p.m. (ABC)

This matchup poses challenges for the Trojans’ defense against a potent Washington passing game. However, Washington has had some recent shaky performances, and USC has Caleb Williams, who is capable of sparking an upset. In the end, Washington will secure a close victory.

Washington 42, USC 40
Prediction: USC +3

No. 14 LSU at No. 8 Alabama (-3), 7:45 p.m. (CBS)

Although Alabama has improved since their game against Texas, I cannot go against Jayden Daniels, the standout QB in the SEC. LSU has the potential to challenge Alabama’s defense with their talented wide receivers.

LSU 34, Alabama 30
Prediction: LSU +3

Feldman’s Upset Special

No. 15 Notre Dame (-3) at Clemson, Noon (ABC)

Dabo Swinney’s recent display of assertiveness on his radio show leads me to believe that his players will rally behind him and deliver an upset victory against Notre Dame.

Clemson 24, Notre Dame 20
Prediction: Clemson +3
