Despite the jokes about closing-line value not paying the bills, there’s a long-term edge in getting the best of a number. With the recent shifts, some golfers have become much more intriguing, especially Cameron Young at 24/1.

Young has consistently shown value in my model due to his high-end potential, and his projected scoring to mimic Sea Island Golf Club has made him a surprising favorite. While he may have a reduced advantage in tee distance, his improvements in putting and projected iron proximity make him a strong contender.

I was initially planning to add a player like Young after round one, but the market undervaluing his caddie’s impact led me to make a move before any action. Here’s my updated outright card after adding the Wake Forest product.
