Ben Rothwell interested in fighting Francis Ngannou in PFL: ‘That’s a legacy fight’

Veteran MMA fighter Ben Rothwell is content with his transition to bare knuckle boxing, but wouldn’t mind getting back into the octagon to face Francis Ngannou. Rothwell sees the potential bout with Ngannou as a career-defining fight and an opportunity to revive his MMA career.

Rothwell’s ties to Ngannou go back to their time together in the UFC, where they competed in the heavyweight division but never clashed. Rothwell is impressed with Ngannou’s move to boxing, even though he believes it might make an MMA fight between them unlikely.

The Wisconsin native is currently excelling in BKFC, with a 2-0 record since his switch. He is set to take on former UFC heavyweight Todd Duffee in the co-main event of BKFC 56 on December 2.

Beyond Rothwell’s story, here are some images from BKFC 54 Bulgaria featuring Zdravko Dimitrov, Martin Stoichkov, Angel Petkov, Steve Pasche, Ynus Emre Batan, Mladen Iliev, and more.
