The excitement for the upcoming college basketball season is growing as it approaches in just under three weeks. Auburn University’s basketball team is eager to begin the 2023-24 season and prove their talent on the court.
Unfortunately, the team didn’t make the cut for the initial USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. They currently fall under the “receiving votes” category, but they are determined to make their mark starting with their season opener against No. 17 Baylor on November 7.
Out of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams, there are five teams that made it into the poll. Tennessee leads the SEC at No. 10, followed by Arkansas at No. 14, Kentucky at No. 16, Texas A&M at No. 19, and Alabama at No. 24.
Auburn’s schedule is filled with tough competition. They will face a total of 10 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the debut poll. Notable opponents include No. 17 Baylor and No. 22 USC. Furthermore, Indiana, Florida, and Missouri are also receiving votes.
