Auburn basketball misses out on initial USA TODAY Coaches Poll

The upcoming 2023-24 college basketball season is just a few weeks away, and Auburn University is ready to prove its worth.

Unfortunately, the Tigers did not make the initial USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll for the season. However, they were included in the “receiving votes” section. Auburn’s first game of the season is against No. 17 Baylor on November 7.

When looking at the poll, we can see that five Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams made the cut. Leading the SEC rankings is Tennessee at No. 10. Arkansas follows at No. 14, then Kentucky at No. 16, Texas A&M at No. 19, and Alabama at No. 24.

Auburn will face a total of 10 teams throughout the season that are either ranked or receiving votes in the debut poll. Some notable opponents include Baylor at No. 17 and USC at No. 22. Florida, Indiana, and Missouri also received votes.
