This Friday will feature the exciting quarterfinal matches at the ATP 500 event in Vienna. With five Top 10 players still in the draw, including defending Vienna champion Daniil Medvedev, this is one of the most highly anticipated ATP 500 events in recent memory. Daniil Medvedev vs Karen Khachanov

Head-to-head: Medvedev 4-1 Khachanov

Their previous matchups have clearly favored Medvedev, with him already securing two victories over Khachanov this year. While Khachanov had a strong year until Roland Garros, his performance has dipped since then, despite a title in Zhuhai. It’s unlikely he can produce the level of play needed to turn the tide against his countryman, especially considering Medvedev’s defense of his 2022 title.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Borna Gojo

Head-to-head: first meeting

Although Tsitsipas has faced struggles this year following his run to the Australian Open final, he has a favorable draw in Vienna and a great opportunity to reach the semifinals. Gojo showcased impressive performance at the US Open and continues to climb the rankings. Despite Gojo’s strong showing in Vienna, Tsitsipas’ experience and skill should prevail.

Frances Tiafoe vs Jannik Sinner

Head-to-head: Sinner 2-1 Tiafoe

Although Tiafoe managed to secure a win against Sinner in the tightly contested 2021 semifinals here in Vienna, Sinner has since improved considerably and established himself as a top 5 player in the world. While Tiafoe had an impressive win against Monfils in the second round, Sinner should have the clear edge in this quarterfinal matchup.

Alexander Zverev vs Andrey Rublev

Head-to-head: Zverev 5-2 Rublev

Rublev had never won a set against Zverev until 2023, but he managed to defeat him in straight sets in both of their matchups this year. While Zverev’s injury has impacted the dynamics of this matchup, he appears to be regaining his top form. Under normal circumstances, Zverev has the advantage over Rublev, especially considering his previous championship win in Vienna in 2021.
