Arkansas Guard Tramon Mark Discharged from Hospital on Friday

Following Arkansas’ 87-72 loss to North Carolina in the Battle 4 Atlantis, a somber atmosphere enveloped Razorback nation. The mood became even more tense when guard Tramon Mark suffered a hard fall with 1:12 left in the game, remaining on the floor in pain at Imperial Arena on Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Despite the unfortunate end to the game, Mark had delivered the best performance of his college basketball career. The Houston transfer notched an impressive 34 points on 13-17 shooting from the field. However, the game took a turn when Mark fell hard while attempting a layup and had to be stretchered off the court.

Following the incident, the team released a statement on Friday evening, providing an encouraging update on the junior guard’s condition. “Arkansas junior Tramon Mark has been released from a local hospital. He had an MRI which showed no significant injury to his back and he will be allowed to travel back to Fayetteville with the team tomorrow morning (Nov. 25).”

Mark also took to Twitter to reassure everyone that he is doing alright.

Mark’s outstanding performance earned him a spot on the Battle 4 Atlantis All-Tournament team, following his scoring of 25 points against Stanford, 12 against Memphis, and 34 against North Carolina.

Looking ahead, Arkansas is gearing up to face the Duke Blue Devils as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge on Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. The highly anticipated game, with a tipoff set for 8:15 p.m. CT, will be televised on ESPN.
