Twin Sisters Committ to Play Division I Basketball for Mercer
Two of the state’s top senior basketball players are joining forces at the Division I level.
Stacy and Stephanie Utomi, twin sisters, took to social media on Saturday to announce their commitment to play for Mercer.
Having received scholarship offers from Mercer in late July, the twins have now secured their positions ahead of their senior seasons in high school.
In a joint statement on X, the Utomi twins said, “Wow, it has been a long time coming, but today we open a new chapter in our lives.”
Since their freshman seasons in 2020, the Utomi twins have been exceptional players in the Ann Arbor area.
Both sisters have earned all-state honors and played a key role in the Gators’ victory in the Division 3 state championship in 2022.
Aside from Mercer, Stacy and Stephanie also received offers from Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, and Delaware State, among others.
