Antonio Reeves is set to enter his fifth and final year of college basketball as a projected second-team All-SEC selection. Despite some off-season drama, Reeves chose to return to the Kentucky Wildcats and showcased his skills during their GLOBL Jam trip to Canada, where he won MVP with an average of 23 PPG.
However, despite being an offensive threat, Reeves acknowledges the need to improve on the defensive side of the game. He emphasized this during SEC Media Days, stating that he has learned the importance of defense during his travels. According to Reeves, being in the right position at all times and maintaining focus off the ball are areas he aims to work on.
Coach John Calipari has noticed a significant shift in Reeves’ confidence since his time at Illinois State. Playing for Kentucky comes with immense pressure, but Reeves has embraced it, gaining more confidence and becoming a vocal leader for the younger players.
