Another Win & Clean Sheet Expected For The World Champions

After achieving three back-to-back wins over the weekend, the Football Bet of the Day focuses on the South American World Cup qualifiers once again. This time, there’s a particular team I’m eager to support once more.

🌎 CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers

⏰ Wednesday 18th October, 03:00

Argentina aims to maintain their flawless World Cup qualification record as they travel to Lima to face goal-shy Peru at the Estadio Nacional in the early hours of Wednesday morning. And I have a strategy to support the visitors once again.

Lionel Scaloni’s men have had a perfect start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, sitting atop the CONMEBOL table after winning all three of their opening qualifiers. Following a 1-0 victory over Ecuador and a 0-3 success against Bolivia in La Paz, La Albiceleste secured a 1-0 win over Paraguay at home, thanks to an early goal by Nicolas Otamendi, which helped us win last Friday’s Football Bet of the Day.

Peru currently sits just above Bolivia in the CONMEBOL standings with only one point from their first three qualifiers. The Peruvian team started their qualifying campaign with a goalless draw against Paraguay away, playing the entire second half with a one-man disadvantage. They then suffered a 0-1 defeat at home against Brazil, conceding in the 90th minute, and were beaten 2-0 in Santiago by Chile in their most recent match.

Bet of the Day

Argentina has remained unbeaten in their last 20 qualifiers (W14-D6-L0) since the last World Cup qualifying campaign. Furthermore, La Albiceleste has won four of their last five World Cup qualifiers on the road, with their only draw being a 1-1 result against Ecuador in Quito due to a 90th-minute equalizer by Enner Valencia. I’m confident in backing them to secure another victory against Peru, a team they defeated 1-0 at home and 0-2 away in the previous qualifying campaign.

Once again, in addition to an Argentinian victory, I’m willing to consider a market that I’m usually not keen onβ€”the Win to Nil bet. However, the world champions have conceded only twice in their previous 13 World Cup qualifiers, keeping clean sheets both home and away against Peru in the last qualifying campaign. I’m predicting them to record another clean sheet against a Peru side that has failed to score in any of their opening three World Cup qualifiers.

  • Argentina to Win to Nil
