Andy Murray is set to face a formidable opponent in the first round of the Paris Masters as the 36-year-old prepares to take on his recent rival Alex de Minaur.
Murray has faced off against the Australian player on five previous occasions and has come out on the losing end every time, including three defeats already this season. De Minaur remains the only tennis player whom Murray has never managed to defeat after at least five encounters.
In their meetings earlier this year, De Minaur convincingly won in straight sets on both clay at the Monaco Masters and on grass at Queen’s Club.
During their most recent match on the hard courts of Beijing, Murray put up a tougher fight, but ultimately let a third-set lead and three match points slip away, resulting in a 3-6 7-5 7-6 (6) victory for De Minaur.
Now, Murray faces De Minaur once again in Paris, with the former world No 1 currently struggling with poor form after four defeats in his last five matches during the Asia swing. Here’s everything you need to know.
When is Andy Murray vs Alex de Minaur?
The match is scheduled second on Court Central and will follow the opening match of the day between Ben Shelton and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, with play underway from shortly after 10am GMT (UK time).
Murray and De Minaur could therefore expect to be on court at around 12pm GMT, although it could be slightly earlier or later depending on the previous match.
