Aliyah Boston to make broadcasting debut as studio analyst on Peacock

Aliyah Boston, 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year and center for the Indiana Fever, is stepping into a new role as a broadcaster after a successful debut season in the league. NBC recently announced that she will be serving as a studio analyst for Big Ten women’s basketball games on Peacock, their streaming service.

During her rookie season, Boston made history by leading all players in the league with a remarkable .578 shooting percentage, becoming the first rookie to achieve this feat. Her outstanding performance earned her the unanimous WNBA Rookie of the Year award, making her the fifth rookie in the league’s history to accomplish this.

Having played in the SEC during her college career at the University of South Carolina, Boston will now be analyzing the top teams in the Big Ten, such as Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio State. She will be joined by Megan McKeown, an analyst and play-by-play broadcaster for Big Ten Network and ESPN, in the studio. NBC’s Carolyn Manno will be hosting the show.

In response to the announcement, Boston expressed her gratitude, saying, “So blessed” and acknowledging it as “another door that God has opened.” She kicked off her broadcasting career by appearing at Big Ten Basketball Media Days in Minneapolis.

In addition to her broadcasting role, Boston is also considering playing for Athletes Unlimited, a professional basketball league that operates during the winter season in the United States. The league features 44 players, with four captains drafting new rosters each week to compete against one another. Boston’s teammate, NaLyssa Smith, was a captain last season and led her team to victory in the AU championship.

With her exceptional talents both on and off the court, Aliyah Boston continues to make her mark in the world of basketball. Her new broadcasting venture and potential participation in Athletes Unlimited further solidify her status as a multi-talented athlete.
