Witness the making of history as Texas A&M women’s tennis star Mary Stoiana achieves an unprecedented top ranking through her tireless efforts and unwavering dedication.
Stoiana has etched her name in the annals of Texas A&M as the first women’s tennis player from the university to be ranked No. 1 in the nation. Hailing from Connecticut, she arrived in Bryan-College Station in 2021 and has since been a dominant force in the Maroon & White.
Following an outstanding freshman year where she accumulated numerous accolades, including being named to the All-SEC freshman, she raised the bar even higher in her sophomore year. Below are some of the honors collected last year as she ascended through the rankings:
-
SEC Player of the Year (2023)
-
ITA All-American Singles (2023)
-
All-SEC First Team (2023)
-
7x SEC Player of the Week in 2023, the most in a single season in conference history
Congratulations to Mary for reaching the pinnacle of national rankings, and we send our best wishes for a successful upcoming season.
