Adam Long hits 56-of-56 fairways at PGA Tour’s World Wide Technology Championship

Wide fairways were a topic of discussion throughout the PGA Tour’s first event at El Cardonal, a golf course designed by Tiger Woods.

However, how wide are the fairways at El Cardonal at Diamante in Los Cabos, Mexico? Adam Long achieved a remarkable feat by hitting all 56 fairways in the four rounds of the 2023 World Wide Technology Championship, making him the first player since Brian Claar at the 1992 Memorial Tournament to achieve 100 percent driving accuracy in a Tour event. Long finished T-23 with a score of 17 under, trailing the winner Erik van Rooyen by 10 shots. (source)

This achievement is not surprising considering Long’s strong performance in driving accuracy, ranking 17th on the Tour with a 65.48 percent accuracy rate. Data Golf reports that 18 players hit every fairway during the morning wave on Thursday, and after the first round, the entire field achieved nearly 90 percent fairway accuracy. The Tour average for the season stands at 58.07 percent.

Adam Long has participated in 36 events this season, but has only made the cut in half of them. He has achieved three top-25 finishes, with his most recent being a T-16 at the Barbasol Championship in July.
