Becky Hammon’s offseason gig is set as she celebrates her second consecutive WNBA title with the Aces in Las Vegas. ESPN recently announced that the Aces head coach will return as a part-time NBA analyst this season. Hammon will be working on various studio shows like “NBA Today,” “First Take,” “Get Up,” and “SportsCenter.” The specifics of her role on ESPN are still unclear.
“Fortunately for Becky, she’s highly sought after because she is not only a championship coach but also a Hall of Famer. Her resume includes years as an assistant head coach with the San Antonio Spurs,” said David Roberts, ESPN’s head of event and studio production, via ESPN. “We’re lucky to have her back this season in an expanded role in our studio shows.”

Hammon recently led the Aces to a WNBA title by defeating the New York Liberty in four games. This marked the third time in league history that a team has won back-to-back championships. Hammon became the head coach of the Aces in 2022, producing an impressive 60-16 record over two seasons. Prior to that, she served as an assistant coach under Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs. Hammon is frequently considered for open NBA coaching positions.
Last season, Hammon joined ESPN as a part-time analyst and impressed with her NBA analysis. ESPN has also announced that Scott Perry, Andre Iguodala, Austin Rivers, and Stephanie White will be working as analysts this season. The NBA season will kick off on Tuesday with TNT’s coverage and ESPN will follow with a double-header on Wednesday featuring the Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs.
