The Philadelphia Flyers secured their first comeback victory of the season in a storybook fashion on Saturday night.

Down to the wire, the Flyers triumphed in a shootout over their rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins, at the PPG Paints Arena.

Center Sean Couturier clinched the win with a perfect shootout, showing resilience and unwavering resolve.

Samuel Ersson’s strong performance included denying Jake Guentzel, Sidney Crosby, and Bryan Rust to punctuate the fervent effort.

In regulation, Owen Tippett, Scott Laughton, and Tyson Foerster scored for the Flyers, who had been struggling with only one win in their previous five games.

Struggling to score goals, the Flyers played with a lead for the first time in six games when Foerster put them ahead with a power-play goal.

The game headed to overtime after the Penguins tied it 3-3 with an extra attacker, but the Flyers’ penalty kill held firm again. The game eventually went to a shootout, where the Flyers emerged victorious.

The Flyers and Penguins are set to face each other again on Monday in Philadelphia.
