New York Mets Bolster Bullpen with Signing of Austin Adams

The New York Mets have bolstered their bullpen with the addition of right-hander Austin Adams, who signed a non-guaranteed contract with the team. Adams, who suffered a fractured right ankle last season, will be looking to provide much-needed relief for a bullpen that struggled without the injured Edwin Diaz. Despite some injury setbacks and a rocky 2021 season, where he set an unwanted MLB record for hitting more than 20 batters in less than 50 innings, Adams has shown promise in getting swings and misses, as well as limiting hard contact. In addition to the signing of Adams, the Mets also announced the hiring of Eduardo Brizuela as vice president and special assistant to the president of baseball operations. Brizuela, who previously worked with the Brewers, brings 15 years of experience to the Mets organization.
