Patchy Mix, Bellator Champion, Reveals UFC Champion Sean O’Malley as His Ultimate Dream Fight

Patchy Mix aspires to face off against Sean O’Malley in the future.

During Bellator’s recent event, Mix (19-1 MMA, 8-1 BMMA) secured a victory by submitting Sergio Pettis (23-6 MMA, 5-1 BMMA) with a second-round rear-naked choke to merge the organization’s 135-pound titles.

O’Malley (17-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) clinched the UFC bantamweight title by knocking out Aljamain Sterling in August. Given their distinct abilities, Mix believes their divergent styles would make for a compelling matchup.

“Sean O’Malley, that’s the dream fight,” Mix expressed to The Schmo. “It’s a big fight: comparable records, similar size, he knocks everyone out, I submit everyone. It would be a crazy fight.”

O’Malley is set to rematch Marlon Vera for his initial title defense at UFC 299 in March, while Mix’s next move remains uncertain. With PFL and Bellator merging, Mix will persist in competing against Bellator fighters as PFL lacks a bantamweight division, providing various potential options.

“Perhaps Raufeon Stots,” Mix noted regarding his future opponent. “He looked promising last week. Maybe (Juan) Archuleta – I lost to him. Who knows, man? I anticipate a rematch. It’s someone from the top five, so, I’m ready.”

Mix proclaimed himself the most exceptional bantamweight in MMA. He attributed his finishing capabilities as the primary factor, as the 30-year-old has concluded 15 of his 19 professional triumphs.
