The highly rated Nigerian attacker has been scouted extensively by Wolves’ recruitment team, with recent talks held with Plzen, the Czech First League club, to explore the possibility of a transfer.
Wolves are navigating financial constraints as the club aims to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules. However, Durosinmi’s profile and price range align with the club’s objectives. He has already scored nine goals this season, including three in the Europa Conference League.
Plzen is seeking a package of up to £10 million and Wolves are aware of rival interest from other clubs, such as Eintracht. Despite this, personal terms and Durosinmi’s recovery from a knee injury are potential stumbling blocks. Wolves remain interested and intend to advance negotiations before the January transfer window.
The pursuit of Durosinmi indicates that transfer funds are available for O’Neil, who failed to secure a forward in the summer transfer window. The club was pursuing deals with Southampton’s Che Adams and Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia prior to the deadline but were unsuccessful.
Hwang has been exceptional this season, scoring seven goals in 13 games. O’Neil expressed optimism about securing a new long-term contract for the South Korea international.
As O’Neil stated, “We’re hopeful [that he will sign]. The club are obviously in talks with Channy and I’m a huge Channy fan, so hopefully it goes well. He’s been incredible for me since I’ve arrived and bought into everything that I’ve asked. His goals have obviously been good but just the way he is around the place, his work ethic and the way he just does what you ask him to do. He does it always with a smile on his face and with real grit and determination. He’s an important player for the team and the club and hopefully we can secure his services for a bit longer than his current deal.”
Wolves will return to league action on Monday night when they travel to Fulham.
