Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll made a declaration on Monday, stating that there is a “great chance” for Geno Smith to play on Thursday. However, Smith himself was non-committal on Tuesday.
The practice report from the Seahawks didn’t provide much clarity on the situation. They listed Smith as a limited practice participant, after initially estimating him as a non-participant on Monday.
When asked about how he’s feeling, Smith mentioned to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, “I’ve had better days but getting there”. Smith had injured his right triceps/elbow on Sunday after taking a big hit from Aaron Donald.
“I definitely feel a little bit better after a couple of days,” Smith added.
The Seahawks are set to release a status report on Wednesday, and it’s expected to list Smith as questionable. This means that Smith’s status for Thursday’s game might not be certain until the day of the game.
In other injury news, receiver DK Metcalf (toe) missed Tuesday’s practice even though he was not on Monday’s injury report. Running back Kenneth Walker (oblique), receiver Dareke Young (abdomen), and safety Jerrick Reed II (knee) also remained out of practice.
Cornerback Riq Woolen (shoulder) continued to be limited in practice. On the other hand, receiver Tyler Lockett (hamstring), safety Jamal Adams (knee/rest), cornerback Tre Brown (foot), and defensive back Coby Bryant (toe) were full participants after being initially estimated as limited on Monday.
