Prime-time golf gets a major boost with the exciting news that TGL co-founder Rory McIlroy will be teaming up with Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Tyrrell Hatton for Boston Common Golf. This move marks the first team in the virtual golf league, set to kick off in January.

TGL, a virtual golf league scheduled to begin play in January, will feature six teams, each consisting of four players, competing in captivating made-for-television matches starting on January 9th. These matches will utilize state-of-the-art simulators and adjustable green complexes at the league’s custom-built arena in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic to join Boston Common Golf and to represent the vibrant sports culture of Boston and New England,” expressed McIlroy in a statement from Boston Common Golf. “TGL introduces a unique aspect to the game, and I’m eagerly looking forward to standing alongside Adam, Keegan, and Tyrrell as teammates. It’s an incredible opportunity that will foster lasting connections and promote regional pride, something rarely seen in the game of golf.”

Of the league’s six teams, five have ownership groups, with Fenway Sports Group owning Boston Common Golf. This group has been extensively linked to the PGA Tour as a potential private equity investor.

Bradley, who hails from New England, is a devoted Boston sports fan, while Scott won his first PGA Tour event, the 2003 Deutsche Bank Championship, in Massachusetts.

Additionally, Justin Thomas has been unveiled as a member of the Atlanta team, and Collin Morikawa will be representing Los Angeles.

TGL, founded by McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and Mike McCarley, will include five regular season matches, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs.
